A Little Greensomes, a Little Grumbling… and a Derby on the Horizon!

Something a little different for the Seniors this week as we turn our attention to Greensomes. Both players tee off, pick the best drive and then play alternate shots until the ball finds the hole. Simple enough in theory. In practice, it’s a wonderful opportunity to discover just how much trouble your playing partner can get you into!

It’s a format guaranteed to raise a smile, even if occasionally through gritted teeth. There’ll be good shots, questionable decisions and the familiar cry of “What did you leave me there for?” But that’s all part of the fun, and a welcome change from the usual fare.

And don’t forget — next week it’s Saints v Pompey!

There’s still room for more players, and you don’t have to support either team to join in. This is about enjoying a cracking matchplay format, a bit of friendly rivalry and, almost certainly, plenty of laughs along the way.

With a shotgun start, everyone heads out together and finishes at roughly the same time, so there’s no hanging around the clubhouse all day waiting for the last groups to come home.

Whether you’re red, blue or completely indifferent to football, this promises to be a brilliant day of golf.
