This week’s Roll Up is also the final round of the Senior Captain’s Cup, and it’s time to sort out those podium places.
The SCC has taken us through 9 April, 30 April, 21 May, 4 June, 18 June, 2 July, 30 July, 13 August and 24 September, with the tenth and final round on 8 October. You earn Stableford points in each round, and your best eight round scores are added together for your final SCC total. If you play all ten, your two lowest scores are dropped. A good round on Thursday could therefore send an earlier effort quietly into retirement. Some of those efforts may already have volunteered.
Devised by former Seniors Captain Doug Watson, the SCC has become a staple of our golfing year and a much-coveted board competition. There’s a title to win, places to chase and just enough time for the leaderboard to have one last wobble.
