The curtain has come down on this year’s Senior Captain’s Cup, with Thursday’s Roll-Up bringing ten rounds of competition to a close. With the best eight scores counting, some players were looking to improve on earlier efforts while others were completing their tally. Now comes the tricky bit โ working out who’s won! The final standings will be announced once the numbers have been crunched and the spreadsheets have stopped protesting.
In the meantime, there was some excellent scoring on a course that’s looking increasingly good as the recent maintenance work begins to pay dividends.
Division 1ย belonged to John Blake, who produced an outstanding 40 points to claim a convincing victory. Rob Hancock followed with a very respectable 36, while behind him something of a traffic jam developed on 35. David Harrison, Mark Amandini, Dave Carey and Geoff Gregory all finished on that number, with David Harrison emerging victorious from the countback calculations to claim third. Clearly, 35 was the fashionable score of the day, although John had obviously missed the memo.

Division 2ย saw Andy Mack take top spot with an excellent 39 points, closely followed by Paul Stubbington on 37. Andy King completed the podium with a solid 36, rounding off some impressive scoring across both divisions.
The twos pot also took a bit of a battering, with Malcolm Willis helping himself twice, at the 11th and 13th. David Harrison struck at the 15th, Leonard Blake added a two at the 13th to cap an excellent day, and Antonio Falco joined the party at the 4th. Five twos between four players, with Malcolm clearly determined to get his money’s worth.
So, the golf is done and the Senior Captain’s Cup now rests in the hands of the number crunchers. Somewhere amongst those scores is our 2026 champion, along with a few players wondering whether that missed three-footer back in April might prove rather expensive.
Watch this space. The final verdict is coming!
