The sun blazed, the fairways ran like airport runways and the bounce appeared to be making its own decisions. Some of our Seniors battled the conditions, others discovered the outer limits of human endurance, but David Harrison simply got on with playing magnificent golf.
A superb gross 75 and 39 points made David Harrison the undisputed player of the day and Division 1 winner. Dave Langler finished two points behind, with Phil Lambden a further point back in third. On fairways this fast, those were outstanding scoresโand proof that someone, somewhere, was still capable of predicting the bounce.

Division 2 produced even bigger numbers, with Steve Downer topping the pile with a remarkable 43 points, four clear of Eddie Sweeney. Dave Walpole claimed third on 36, edging out Rex Carpenter on count-back.
The Twos Pot also took a proper battering, with six players helping themselves to a share. John Hill and Kev Farminer dipped in twice, which is either excellent golf or simply taking advantage of the buffet before everyone else arrived.
Hats off to everyone who survived the scorcherโand particularly to David Harrison, whose gross 75 was every bit as impressive as it sounds.
