Before you know it, another Thursday Roll Up has come and gone, proving once again that senior golf is never short of entertainment. There was enough cheering when twos dropped to make nearby fairways wonder if England had won a penalty shootout, while a few bunkers saw so much action they could probably start charging green fees. Some spent more time in the sand than the Senior Captain on his Lanzarote holiday, but somehow order emerged from the chaos.
The standout performance belonged to David Harrison, whose superb gross 76 and magnificent 39 points lit up Division One. Dave Carey and Phil Lambden both finished on 37 points, with Phil just sneaking second place after the inevitable countback that has broken more hearts than a lip-out on the 18th.

Division Two belonged to Martin Williams with an excellent 39 points, comfortably ahead of the ever-reliable Nick Morgan on 36. The battle for third was as tight as a well-read three-footer, with Antonia Falco, Doug Watson and Pete Lyons all finishing on 35 points. After yet another countback, Doug walked away with the prize, proving once again that every shot really does matter.
Thanks to everyone who turned out for another cracking Roll Up. Weโll do it all again next week, with more laughs, more stories from the fairways, and no doubt a few golfers insisting they โplayed much better than the score suggests.โ
